THE HISTORY OF DIVINE INTERVENTION

Divine Intervention began life way back in January 2004.
It was formed by 5 friends, that had met playing the Playstaion 2
online MMORPG Everquest Online Adventures (EQOA),
on the only server available for Europe - Stonewatchers.

For each of the founding members, EQOA was their first foray
into the world of online role-play games, so it made a lot of sense
for these 5 total newbies to join forces and face the perils
that awaited them.

The founders of Divine Intervention were :-

Medius (United Kingdom)
Naja (United Kingdom)
Beetle (United Kingdom)
Wieldon (Sweden)
Khnopff (Belgium)

The guild began to expand rapidly, with members joining from
all over Europe. But, as time progressed
(and with a severe lack of support from Sony Online Europe),
many of the original members' interest in EQOA began to wane,
leaving Medius as the only active guild master.
The guild was in fact closed down for a short period of time
during this period.

With the outbreak of "Frontiers" abuse
(an "unreleased" add on for EQOA - only officially available
for the US market), the guild went through somewhat of
a resurgence. The guild (now solely under Medius'stewardship)
took an anti-frontiers abuse stance, and, many people joined
the guild in support of this.

It was seen as a "fair-play" guild, a home for all the people upset
with the current situation. Alas, that particular war was one that
the guild couldn't win (thanks in no small part to some amazing u-turn
decisions on the part of SoE) and the PAL version of EQOA
started dying a slow and painful death.

But, ironically, just as EQOA was making it's last hurrah - Blizzard
released a new MMORPG onto the market, World of Warcraft.
A few of the EQOA Div Int crew decided to swap their console
gaming skills and join the world of PC MMORPG'S.
Needless to say, the most asked question was "When will Divine
Intervention set up home on WoW?"

So, Medius - along with now Divine Intervention regulars Bregor
and Shugyosha, formed a WoW version of Div Int on the Shattered
Hand server primarily to give all of the EQOA exiles a home in
the new game.

That was back in April 2005, and since then the guild has gone
from strength to strength with many of the "old guard" of Div Int
coming over to WoW, and a plethora of totally new members
joining in the fun.

Even though the guild now getting fairly large, it still holds dear
to it's ideals of fair-play, friendship and team-work.
That will never change, as those are the building blocks that have
made Div Int a successful guild.
